We
offer opportunities for our children to grow spiritually and
to fellowship with one another. We believe that growing up is harder
now than ever before, and now more than ever, preschoolers & children need the experiences that come only through involvement in a
community of faith. While Northeast Baptist Church cannot replace the importance of a
Christian home and loving parents, it can enhance the teachings and
instruction of the family. The goal of our ministry is to respond
to the needs of our families while making sure that everything we do for
our very youngest points them toward God's love and God's will for
their lives.
At Northeast, we teach our children using the "Rotational Learning" model. In a rotational learning setting, the same Bible story or theme is taught for several weeks. Each week, the children rotate to a different station. We use various stations such as Art, Cooking, Computer, Games, Science, Storytelling, Music and Movement to help children experience Bible stories in the ways they learn best! The more ways children explore a story or theme, the more it is reinforced in their memory.
The
Children's Choir is for children in grades K-5. They meet in the
Children's Music room each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The children
learn the fundamentals of music and singing with a strong emphasis on
learning hymns. The emphasis is on building a foundation of faith and
music that will serve the children and the church throughout their
lives. The children sing in worship periodically throughout the year.
